Bass Box grew up poor on a small farm outside of Augusta, Maine. Life was simple then, slopping the pigs, milking the schoolgirls and playing good oldtimey music down by the watering hole on Sundays after church and before the barn raising. In a simple twist of fate, the band one day saw The Big Lebowski and realized that there was a whole world out there just waiting for them to discover it. After a thorough de-worming the band packed up its few possessions (a chord organ, an empty bass case & three packs of Big League Chew) and headed for Portland, Maine, city of sin. Once there, they set to work trying to make their fortune. Chas is by all accounts the best shoe shine in all of the North-East and Stu made a descent salary as an enforcer for Anthony's Italian Kithen. Mat wishes to keep his activities to himself in case a family member or his old pastor ever reads this. But lets just say, he can do a lot more with his mouth than sing. Just when it seemed that the dream of international superstardom was coming to an end (and immediately following a second viewing of The Big Lebowski), fate intervened... again. A truck carrying a load full of toxic chemicals from Lewiston, ME to Tromaville, NJ crashed into a park bench the boys were sitting on. They were all mutated into musicians who owned instruments and generated moderate interest from friends and family. They played open mics at the Ale House, until the Hellspawn demon of short men with tiny penises closed the gates never to open again. Some months later they re-appeared. Revitalized and feeling on top of the world (because they were being paid for the first time), Bass Box opened for Confusatron and Covered In Bees at Geno's Rock Club. So now ladies and gentlemen prepare yourselves, for Bass Box is come unto you.
